EURX or ECX (Euro Currency Index) - was introduced in January 2006 on the NYBOT (New York Board of Trade) to calculate the present value of European currencies. The current value of the index is the average fluctuation of the world's five currencies (U.S. dollar, British pound, Japanese yen, Swiss franc and Swedish krone) in relation to the euro. The index is the benchmark for calculating the value of the euro, and can be used to predict changes in other crosses with the euro.
The calculation of euro currency index against the basket of five currencies coincides with the data used by the European Central Bank in the calculation of trade-weighted euro index to currencies of those countries, which form the main foreign trade turnover of the euroregion

U.S. Dollar Currency Index (USDX) was introduced in March 1973, after the elimination of the Bretton Woods system and is a measure of the U.S. dollar to the basket of six major currencies.
Just as stock indexes show the general condition of the stock market and US Dollar Currency Index (USDX) shows the international value of the U.S. dollar. The index is computed constantly - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - on the basis of information on transactions in the foreign exchange market, provided by the agency Reuters from 500 banks around the world.
The calculation of the dollar index (USDX) against the basket of six currencies is not accidental - it coincides with the data used in the U.S. Federal Reserve System in the calculation of trade-weighted dollar index of currencies of those countries, which form the main foreign trade turnover of USA

Europe Force Front Stocks Index is a synthetic instrument. The index was first developed by FrontStocks Ltd. December 14, 2009. Then the instrument was extensively tested for 16-months and has been admitted to large-scale operation of April 27, 2011.
